The Four Queens of Tarot represent the four female archetypes associated with the elements Earth, Air, Fire and Water. In a Tarot Reading, Queens usually represent women and their personality types. As you read the descriptions of the Tarot Queens below, ask yourself which one(s) resemble your personality.

Queen of Wands
The Queen of Wands is an extroverted, confident and inspiring personality. She has leadership qualities and is warm, creative and spontaneous. She can be found in roles involving community leadership, positive social activism, and creative and performance activities. The Queen of Wands helps others through leadership and taking action. She is associated with the element of Fire and the Zodiac signs Leo, Aries and Sagittarius. If the Queen of Wands is displaying negative qualities (reversed Tarot card), she can be impatient, demanding and bad tempered.
Queen of Pentacles
The Queen of Pentacles is a supremely practical and down to earth personality. She is adept at managing practical day to day needs. Her organisational ability may be applied to her household or to her job, and she is a whiz at organising herself and others. She is motherly in the sense that she is a good provider and she takes care of others by providing practical and tangible assistance such as food, help with managing finances, or sound advice. She is associated with the element of Earth and the Zodiac signs Virgo, Taurus and Capricorn. If the Queen of Pentacles is displaying negative traits (reversed Tarot card), she can be overly materialistic, controlling of others and prone to worry.
Queen of Cups
The Queen of Cups is an intuitive, compassionate personality. She is an emotional nurturer and helps others primarily through providing emotional support. She is a natural empath, and she may appear as a mentor or a counsellor. The Queen of Cups is associated with the element of Water and the Zodiac signs Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio. If the Queen of Cups is displaying negative qualities (reversed Tarot card), she may be co-dependent (lacking independence in relationships), emotionally manipulative, or she may be simply someone who unwisely lets her heart rule her head, especially when it’s not in her best interests.
Queen of Swords
The Queen of Swords is an intellectually aware woman who has a clever and perceptive mind. She is independent, organised, and is a very quick and adept thinker. On an emotional level, the Queen of Swords is unafraid to make “hard decisions” and will act defensively but fairly if necessary. She tends to perceive reality clearly rather than through rose tinted glasses. She is associated with the element of Air and the Zodiac signs Aquarius, Libra and Gemini. If the Queen of Swords is displaying negative qualities (reversed Tarot card), she may be narrow minded and ruthless.
